Ithaca, 13 June 08 -- Cornell University is closing East Avenue and George Jessup Road next week. East Avenue will be closed from University Avenue to Tower Road from 6am Monday morning, June 16th until 6pm Saturday evening, June 21st, to facilitate the assembly of a construction crane for the Physical Sciences building project.

At the same time, George Jessup Road on Cornell's north campus will be closed beginning Monday for about a week, to allow construction of a new water main. The road will be closed from Jessup Place to Triphammer Road. Traffic will be diverted onto Jessup Drive and Sisson Place. Cornell says Robert Purcell Community Center, Jameson Hall, and the A Lot parking lot will be accessible from the east end of Jessup Road.

TCAT's web site at tcatbus.com will have details of the necessary bus route detours.
