"Mini" Apple Store to open in Syracuseby Mark H. Anbinder, WVBR News
Sponsored in part by: Ithaca, 5 August 04 -- Personal computer maker Apple Computer, Inc., is advertising job opportunities for its new retail Apple Store at the Carousel Center in Syracuse. The store will be only the second example of Apple's new "mini" store format, offering a smaller selection of merchandise such as the ever-popular iPod, PowerBook and iBook laptops, and selected models of desktop computers and accessories. The first "mini" store is slated to open in California's Bay Area. Carousel Center is owned by the Pyramid Companies, whose Crossgates Mall in Albany, Walden Galleria in Buffalo, and Palisades Mall in West Nyack, already have full-size Apple Stores. The same company owns and operates Pyramid Mall Ithaca, which has also been rumored as a site under consideration for a smaller Apple Store, thanks to its proximity to Cornell University. The new Apple Store in Syracuse will reportedly have its grand opening in late September. |
