Ithaca-area Traffic Watch

by 14850 Today & WVBR News.

Campus Road closed to vehicles this weekend

Ithaca, 22 October 08 -- A one-block stretch of Campus Road on the Cornell University campus, which has been closed to vehicular traffic between East Avenue and Hoy Road on weekdays but open on weekends, will remain closed to vehicles this weekend. Cornell cites "unforeseen conditions" related to construction of an addition to the Statler Hall building, part of Cornell's School of Hotel Administration.

Sidewalks adjacent to the building on the north side of Campus Road and the east side of East Avenue are closed to pedestrians, who are being detoured to the sidewalk in front of Phillips Hall on the south side of Campus Road, and in front of Sage Hall on the west side of East Ave.

Campus Road closing Monday-Friday through mid-November on Cornell campus

Ithaca, 4 October 08 -- Cornell University says a one-block stretch of Campus Road will be closed on weekdays from this Monday through November 17th. The block between East Avenue and Hoy Road is being closed to allow for construction of an addition to Statler Hall. Pedestrians will be able to use the sidewalk on the south side of the road; sidewalks directly adjacent to the Statler Hall project along East Avenue and Campus Road will be closed.

Campus Road will be reopened to vehicular traffic from the end of the workday on Friday afternoons through Sunday night. During the week, traffic will be detoured around that portion of campus through Collegetown or the eastern side of campus. TCAT bus routes and the East Hill Office Building staff shuttle will be rerouted as needed.
