Flooding and icing conditions near Ithaca High School have forced school officials to move student pick-up and drop-off to the Lake Street side of the IHS campus for today and tomorrow. The school district asks area residents to help by avoiding Lake Street or North Cayuga Street near the high school for non-school-related travel.
Bus dismissal today and tomorrow will be at the regular time, and parents picking up their kids are asked to wait until 3:45-4:00pm to pick up their students on the Lake Street side of campus. The district says parents waiting until 3:45 will help reduce congestion with buses picking up kids being transported home. Students may wait inside the school building until their rides come.
For morning drop-off, students arriving by 9:05am will not be marked as tardy.
Students from Elizabeth Ann Clune Montessori and the Waldorf School will transfer buses near the tennis courts as usual. Visitor parking at IHS will be closed from noon to 4pm today and tomorrow, the district says.
