Fans of fresh produce and other local food will descend on The Space @ GreenStar this Saturday, as the Ithaca Farmers Market begins its fifth season of indoor winter market hours. Local farms, craftspeople, and other vendors will be on hand from 11am-2pm each Saturday through the end of March.
Even though it's winter, the market will feature fresh seasonal produce such as carrots, garlic, asparagus, and turnips from farms like Stick & Stone. There will also be fresh and frozen meat vendors, and prepared food and baked good vendors, like Fat Boy Bakery.
The winter market was held at the Women's Community Building for its first three years, but moved last winter to GreenStar's annex on Fulton Street between Court and Buffalo Streets.
From April through December, the farmers market is at Steamboat Landing on the waterfront on weekends, with additional seasonal hours downtown at DeWitt Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays and across from East Hill Plaza on Wednesdays.
