Power blip will cause short heating interruption on campus, warns Cornell

Cornell University says its utilities crews are working to restore power to a few campus buildings, following a "power blip" and partial outage that affected much of campus. 

Cornell's heating plant on east hill. 14850 file photo.Cornell's heating plant on east hill. 14850 file photo.Equipment in the University's heating plant, situated between Route 366 and Maple Avenue, needs to be restarted, and officials say utilities crews have initiated a steam service loadshed, to lessen steam distribution across campus. Cornell says this "will result in noticeable cooling of building spaces throughout campus." 

The power blip appears to have been caused by a squirrel.
