Collegetown shooting suspect turns himself in at Ithaca police station

According to the Ithaca Police Department, Tyrelle McCargo, their suspect in last week's Collegetown shooting incident, turned himself in at police headquarters last night. IPD public information officer Jamie Williamson says the suspect "came to the police department voluntarily because he heard we were looking for him."

Photo provided by IPD.McCargo was taken into custody at about 8:05pm on Monday, February 4th, and has been charged with assault in the second degree, a class D felony. The 22-year-old Cortland resident was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and remanded to Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. He has a return court date of February 6th.

Update: Ithaca Police Department has corrected their misspelling of the suspect's name. It is "Tyrelle McCargo."
