Ithaca and some other area school districts opening on a two-hour delay

February 5, 2015 by Mark H. Anbinder

Ithaca City School District is among several school districts opening on a two-hour delay on Thursday morning. A few inches of snow fell overnight, making for slippery road conditions this morning.

Opening on a two-hour delay:

  • Ithaca City School District
  • Watkins Glen Central School District
  • Odessa Montour Central School District
  • Spencer Van Etten Central School District
  • Corning Painted Post Area School District
  • Elmira City School District
  • Newark Valley Central Schools

Dryden Central School District and Binghamton Central School District are opening on a one-hour delay.

For Ithaca, the two-hour delay procedure means all buses will be delayed exactly two hours, and all schools will start exactly two hours later than usual. Elementary students should arrive between 9:40 and 10am, and secondary school doors will open at 10:30am. Students will follow a condensed bell schedule that includes all scheduled classes.
