ECAC top spot on the line for Cornell women's hockey on Senior Weekend as men head to snowy New England

Now in fourth place in the ECAC Hockey standings, Big Red women's ice hockey goes into Senior Weekend with a chance to grab the regular season title if they win all four remaining games. The women host Harvard on Friday evening and Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon, before a ceremony recognizing the squad's three graduating seniors.

They shut out the Big Red 3-0 earlier this winter in Boston, though Cornell is 4-1-0 in the last five matchups against Harvard at Lynah, and came from behind to crush Harvard in the semifinal round of the ECAC Hockey Tournament in Potsdam last winter. The Crimson are coming off an exciting come-from-behind win on Tuesday, edging Boston College 3-2 for a Beanpot Tournament championship, and handing the Eagles their first defeat of the entire season.

At Dartmouth last month, Cornell topped the Big Green 2-1 despite arriving in Hanover with only seven healthy forwards. The Green come into the weekend 11-11-2 overall, 7-9-2 in ECAC action.

Tickets for Friday's 7pm game and Saturday's 4pm game at Lynah Rink are $6 for adults, $4 for children and Cornell staff, and $5 for seniors, and admission is free for Cornell students. Cornell will finish out its regular season on the road, heading to the Capital District next weekend to face RPI and Union.

Cornell's men are on the road for the third-to-last weekend of their regular season, facing Dartmouth on Friday night and Harvard on Saturday. Gametime for the game at Harvard has been moved up to 4pm due to a New England weather forecast that features a possible blizzard. Saturday's game at Harvard's Bright Hockey Center will be available on ESPN3, the sports network's online channel that can be viewed on mobile phones and tablets, Apple TV devices, and on the web.

The squad comes into the weekend in seventh place in the ECAC standings, and with six games remaining in the season for all twelve teams in the conference, having split four of their last five weekends. Last weekend, they fell to Quinnipiac in overtime on Friday before handily beating the Princeton Tigers. Dartmouth's Big Green is riding a five-game winning streak, which started with a 5-2 win over the Big Red in Ithaca last month. The Crimson had a much better start to the season, but have gone just 2-7 in 2015, including a loss at Cornell's hands on January 23rd.

The men's senior weekend see RPI and Union come to Lynah Rink next weekend, and then they'll finish the regular season on the road at Brown and Yale on February 27th and 28th.
