The Big Red women's ice hockey team swept Princeton in last weekend's ECAC quarterfinal series at Lynah RInk to earn a trip north for the championship tournament. Cornell will face Harvard in the second of two semifinal games on Saturday afternoon at Clarkson University's Cheel Arena.
It took just two games of a best-of-three quarterfinal series for Cornell to advance, and both games were exciting come-from-behind contests. Ranked fifth in the nation, Cornell holds a 22-5-4 record heading into their match-up with sixth-ranked Harvard, 23-5-4 on the season. The championship game on Sunday at 1pm will pit the winner of the Cornell-Harvard game against the winner of Saturday's early game, between Clarkson and Quinnipiac.
Cornell's men have the weekend off, after edging into fourth place in the ECAC as they finished the regular season last weekend. The Big Red fell to Dartmouth on Friday night before Saturday's overtime win over Harvard capped senior weekend.
