Sheriff's Department investigating armed robbery at east hill Rite Aid

March 9, 2014

Two men armed with handguns robbed the Rite Aid pharmacy near East Hill Plaza early on Saturday evening, says the Tompkins County Sheriff's Department. No one was injured in the incident, which occurred at around 6pm.

Investigators say store staff reported two men entered and robbed the store before fleeing. One man was described as wearing a black jacket with green hood, dark-colored pajama bottoms with white lettering, and a white ski mask covering his face. The other man was wearing a black jacket with green hood, light khaki pants, and a black ski mask covering his face.

Store employees say the pair fled the store towards Agava Restaurant, and then drove west on Mitchell Street in a light-colored SUV. The store is on Pine Tree Road in the Town of Ithaca southeast of the Cornell University campus, on the site formerly occupied by Ide's Bowling. Sheriff's Department investigators ask anyone with information about the robbery to contact them at 607-257-1345.
