Trumansburg Central School District superintendant Michael McGuire ordered the school district on lockdown Monday morning after district officials received information that a recent parolee had removed his monitoring device somewhere near the high school campus.

It was found on residential property adjacent to the high school.
As a precaution, McGuire says, all district facilities are on lockdown. The school is communicating with district parents by telephone or other available contact info on file with the school.
Authorities ask anyone who sees Jacobs, a five-foot-nine 30-year-old with brown hair and brown eyes, to call 911. Jacobs was also charged five years ago with robbery in the second degree after allegedly robbing Louie's Lunch Truck at gunpoint.
Parents of children in the Trumansburg Central School District who walk to school should make arrangements to pick them up at the end of the school day or contact the school office. Students who take buses will be transported home as usual.
