Ithaca City School District is dismissing DeWitt Middle School, Boynton Middle School, Lehman Alternative Community School, and Ithaca High School at noon today, as cold air begins to change today's stormy weather from rain to snow across the Finger Lakes. All other Ithaca schools will close at their usual times.
Lansing Central School District is dismissing middle school and high school at 11:30 and elementary school at 12:30, and Trumansburg Central School District is dismissing all K-12 students at noon. The Tompkins County Public Library announced this morning that it was closing for the day, as well.

Weather in the Ithaca area is expected to transition from rain to snow between 11am and 1pm, with heavy snow likely this afternoon and evening, and blowing snow likely this evening as winds increase. The National Weather Service says "rapidly falling temperatures will cause a flash freeze later this afternoon and early tonight," on wet roadways and other surfaces. As temperatures drop and winds increase, wind chills tonight could drop as low as 15 below zero.
