Drivers taken to hospital after two-car accident at Ithaca College entrance

Both drivers were taken to area hospitals following a two-car collision at the entrance to the Ithaca College campus this morning. The Ithaca Fire Department says firefighters and Bangs Ambulance personnel were dispatched to the scene at 9:50am by the Tompkins County 911 center.

Photo courtesy of IFD.Both vehicles were seriously damaged, and firefighters arriving at the scene called for a heavy rescue truck and a second ambulance, according to Lt. Thomas T. Basher Jr. of Ithaca Fire Department. Bangs Ambulance transported both injured drivers, one to Cayuga Medical Center and the other to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.

Basher believes one of the vehicles involved in the accident was turning. He says the Ithaca Police Department is investigating further.
