The State Theatre in Downtown Ithaca will see two headline shows this June, as Dan Smalls Presents has announced both Lindsey Buckingham and Fiona Apple have added Ithaca to their tours. Tickets for the shows go on sale at 10am on Friday, April 13th, and April 20th, respectively.
After a six-year hiatus, Fiona Apple sold out a six-date small-venue tour, and will kick off her summer tour with a June 19th show at the State. That's the same day Clean Slate/Epic Records will release the artist's first album in seven years. She made her debut at age 19 with 1996's triple-platinum "Tidal," and her last album, "Extraordinary Machine," debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, and appeared on numerous critics' "Best of 2005" lists. Tickets will go on sale at $49.50 on April 20th at www.dansmallspresents.com or www.stateofithaca.com, or at the State Theatre box office.
Lindsey Buckingham is the iconic guitarist and lead singer of Fleetwood Mac, and will play a solo show on June 8th. The Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will bring his unique guitar style to an 8:30pm show. The New York Times said recently that, "His fingers had done dazzling things: fingerpicking that could be pristine and meditative or pointedly aggressive, counterpoints of staccato thumb-picked bass lines and gliding melodies, quasi-Baroque austerity leading into frenetic strumming." Tickets will go on sale at $29.50, $36.50, and $46.50 on April 13th at www.dansmallspresents.com or www.stateofithaca.com, or at the State Theatre box office. A limited number of $100 VIP tickets will be avaialble, including a meet-and-greet.
