A portion of Triphammer Road in Ithaca's northeast will be closed this Tuesday through Friday for water service repairs. The City of Ithaca's Water & Sewer Division will be working on damaged and leaking water valves beginning at 7am Tuesday, April 22nd.
Water service work will begin on Triphammer Road this Tuesday. 14850 Photo.The affected stretch of Triphammer Road, within the Village of Cayuga Heights, is from the intersection with Jessup Road adjacent to Cornell's North Campus, to the intersection with Hanshaw Road, next to the Community Corners shopping center. Emergency access and access to homes on that portion of road will be maintained, but through traffic should seek alternate routes.
Drivers headed north towards Community Corners and the Village of Lansing will be directed to turn right onto Jessup Road, then left onto Pleasant Grove Road, which ends at Hanshaw Road next to the Cayuga Heights Fire Station.
Drivers headed south towards the Cornell campus and the City of Ithaca will be directed to turn from Hanshaw Road onto Pleasant Grove Road, drive past Cornell's A Lot, then turn right onto Jessup Road and return to Triphammer Road.
North Triphammer Road, which heads north from the Community Corners intersection through the Village of Lansing and Town of Lansing, passing the Shops at Ithaca Mall, is not affected.
Triphammer Road will close at 7am on Tuesday, and City officials say they anticipate it should reopen by 3:30pm on Friday, April 25th.
