Photo courtesy Adam Baker.Heavy rains over the last week have caused water leveks in the area's creeks and lakes to rise, and debris washing downstream has caused problems all over the region as creeks back up and overflow their banks.

The National Weather Service says Cayuga Lake was at a depth of 384.1 feet at 1pm on Thursday. Flood stage is 383.5 feet. "Minor flooding is occurring," say forecasters, "and will continue as additional showers and thunderstorms are expected tonight and early Friday."

"Precipitation will keep Cayuga Lake just above flood level into the weekend," says the National Weather Service.
