Dunk a law enforcement officer this Saturday for charity

Several area law enforcement officers have decided charity is more important than dignity. Ithaca Harley-Davidson is hosting "Dunk a Cop for a Cause" this Saturday to benefit the American Red Cross, and Tompkins County Sheriff Ken Lansing is among the volunteer dunking victims. 

14850 file photo.14850 file photo.Lansing is joined this Saturday by Undersheriff Derek Osborne, as well as officers from the New York State Police, Schuyler County Sheriff's Department, Horseheads Police Department, and Owego Police Department.

The Tompkins County chapter and other nearby chapters of the American Red Cross provide first aid training, relief to individuals and families displaced by home fires and natural disasters such as flooding, and blood drives.

The Ithaca Harley-Davidson event is scheduled from 11am-2pm this Saturday, August 17th, at their store at the junction of Route 13 and Route 224 in Cayuta, south of Ithaca.
