Frost advisory tonight for Ithaca and Central New York

September 18, 2014 by Rachel Cera

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a frost advisory that's in effect from 3am to 9am on Friday morning, or overnight tonight, for Tompkins and surrounding counties.

The NWS says temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 30s across Central New York, which means unprotected plants that are sensitive to cold may be damaged or killed. Colder areas such as hilltops and low-lying rural valleys are especially susceptible to temperatures colder than the forecast.

If you have sensitive plants outside, bring them indoors or cover them overnight.

After tonight, lows the next few nights will be around 50 or higher.
