Photo courtesy of IPD.Police have released a security camera image of the suspect, who is described as a white male, about 5'9"-5'11" tall, in his 40s, with greying brown hair. The suspect was wearing a black ski mask, camouflage shirt, black jacket with black and white flannel lining, a light grey hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans or dark pants.

Police had responded to a call from Byrne Dairy, on North Meadow Street, at about 6:42pm Sunday, when a call came in at 6:51 describing a similar incident at the Citgo, on North Fulton Street. The robber obtained an undisclosed amount of cash at the Citgo.

Ithaca police ask anyone with information about the robberies or the suspect to call 607-272-3245 or the IPD tip line at 607-697-0333.

During the search for the suspect, dispatchers received reports of a motor vehicle accident at the corner of South Meadow Street and Wood Street in which the drivers were engaged in a verbal argument, and an apparently self-inflicted stabbing wound in the Walmart parking lot. IPD was assisted with both of these cases by deputies from the Tompkins County Sheriff's Department.
