A missing Van Etten teen, 15-year-old Madison Hornbrook, "is thought to be in the downtown Ithaca area," according to her mother, Rachel E. MacCaskill Goehner. The girl has been missing since early Monday morning.

Photos provided.According to her family, Madison, who's 5 feet 3 inches tall, was last seen at home at 1am Sunday night, or Monday morning, and "was gone by 4am." Van Etten is about 40 minutes south of Ithaca.

Madison got a haircut on Sunday, and has shorter chin-length hair that's been colored red, says her mom. She's likely to be wearing a brown jacket with dark pink plaid on the inner lining and a fur-lined hood, could be wearing jeans or yoga pants, and has maroon canvas sneakers. She may be carrying a large, sparkly, pink and black striped Victoria's Secret bag, though that may have been stolen by the people she is believed to have been visiting in Ithaca -- who reportedly told Ithaca police late Monday night that they have never met her.

Anyone who sees or has seen Madison, or knows anything about her whereabouts, is asked to contact the New York State Police at 607-739-0281 or contact the Ithaca Police Department via police dispatch at 607-272-3245, the administration line at 607-272-9973, the Crimestoppers Tipline at 607-697-0333, or the anonymous online tip form.
