No injuries after car careens down icy hill towards popular Ithaca tavern

December 11, 2014 by Mark H. Anbinder

An icy hill in Collegetown was blamed for a one-car crash late last night as a driver lost control of a vehicle that ended up colliding with a utility pole. Officer Jamie Williamson of Ithaca Police Department told us this morning, "There were no injuries at all."

"The vehicle struck a utility pole," Officer Williamson reassured us. Neither the people in the car nor the dozens of beer taps behind the bar were affected by the accident.

Most area school districts delayed opening this morning, or even closed for the day, as city, town, and county crews worked to clear roads of the snow from the last couple of days.
