Missing Western New York man last seen in Buffalo area Wednesday afternoon

Update: A New York State Trooper located Mr. Lane in the Town of Wolcott a short while ago. He is reported to be in good health, and police are bringing him home to Amherst, according to the Amherst Town Police Department.

Original story: At the request of Amherst Town Police Department, a New York State Missing Vulnerable Adult Alert has been issued in the case of John P. Lane, age 85, of Williamsville. Mr. Lane has Alzheimer's Disease and may be in need of medical attention.

Before his disappearance, he was last seen at the Country Club of Buffalo in Williamsville at 2pm yesterday, and was driving a grey 2012 Toyota Camry, New York license plate U923RL. He was last seen wearing a blue blazer, blue overcoat, and grey pants.

Mr. Lane was reportedly seen at about 9:30 Thursday morning at a gas station in the Oswego area. The NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services Missing Persons Clearinghouse has issued an alert in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Cayuga, Chautauqua, Chenango, Cortland, Erie, Genesee, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Livingston, Madison, Monroe, Niagara, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Orleans, Oswego, Otsego, Seneca, Steuben, Tompkins, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates Counties.
